Treading New Ground
In the Tower until August 2, 2026
She produced a multi-sensory sculpture installation made with rubber tires from cars, trucks, bicycles, and airplanes. Curling ribbons of looping tire tubing, short tufts of cut rubber, and long strips of tires with a variety of treads and widths, all bound together with screws created a massive sense of dynamism.
The scent of rubber unsettled me, and I wondered what would it be like to live in an apocalyptic world with architectural structures made of rubber tires?
Her intention is to “...translate materials into imagery that will stimulate people to consider themselves as part of their environment—one piece of it.”
